An art student has used their creative flare to express the universal struggles of the modern day working girl.

Choirstaidh McArthur, 21, launched the Working Girl exhibition in her home in Glasgow.

The Glasgow School of Art student cleared out her flat to make way for massive canvases, showcasing all of the work she had been creating over the past couple of months.

Working Girl is a visual representation of the struggles that Choirstaidh and dozens of other girls go through as a young person who is trying to succeed in juggling a part time job and university studies.

The art depicted the worries that are typically felt by people in their twenties, as they try to find their way in life – prioritising workloads, trying to save money and building a career.

Chiorstadh said: “I hope my work will prove to be food for thought and that people can relate to it, as I think struggling to juggle work and uni is something that a lot of people really struggle with.”
