Fun things to do this St Patrick’s Day in Glasgow

Paddys
Molly Malone’s packed ahead of St Paddy’s Day celebrations

St Patrick’s Day is a day for people all over the world to celebrate Irish heritage, and an excuse to get very, very drunk.

It started as a celebration of the patron saint of Ireland, however, now it is yet another day in the calendar which has been lapped up by consumerists to rinse the public of every last penny.

In saying that, it doesn’t stop us from painting our faces green and heading to Irish pubs in town to drink a pint of Guinness and do an Irish jig.

Waxy O’Connor’s

With celebrations kicking off at 3pm and going across four floors, Waxy’s have lined up lots of surprises throughout the day and night.

This 12 hour party will see Glasgow residents party in true Irish style.

If you’re trying to stay in to save money for summer but still want to celebrate St Pat’s, why not make some Guinness cupcakes.

With ingredients costing under a fiver and only taking about an hour to make, this is a fun way to join in on the festivities without having to leave the house.

If you can’t get a babysitter for the night or simply want to have fun with the kids, you could make your own art studio from home with some leprechaun crafts.

This is a fun way to get them involved and keep them quiet for a few hours!

So, a Scotsman, an Englishman and an Irishman all walk into a pub… But there’s no punchline because it’s St Patrick’s Day – Guinness at the ready!
